Developing countries will account for an increasing share of energy demand by 2030, rising from 30% of global consumption in 2000 to 43% in 2030. Despite this, in 2030, North America, with a population of around 390 million, will still consume more energy than China and India combined, with 2.9 billion inhabitants. The difference will be even more striking in electricity consumption. Developing countries will consume almost five times less electricity per capita in 2030 than OECD countries.<\/p>

To improve access to energy in the Androy and Anosy regions, Fondem launched the BOR\u00c9ALE program, aimed at electrifying 7 villages using photovoltaic solar power plants. Each locality, with concentrated housing and strong solar potential, will benefit from a technical solution with an associated network. To ensure sustainability, a financial plan imposes a monthly fee on subscribers. Local operators will be selected and trained to manage the service.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Biogas is a combustible gas obtained by fermenting animal waste in a sealed tank, used for cooking and hot water. The fermented material serves as a natural soil for crops, allowing waste to be managed and recovered. This project, located in the Hassan and Chikkaballapur districts of Karnataka, India, has three objectives: to combat climate change by replacing fossil fuels, to improve the conditions of women and children in rural areas with clean energy, and to recover animal waste to produce biogas and quality compost. More than 100,000 tonnes of CO2 equivalent have been avoided thanks to this project.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Projet BORE\u0301ALE dans le sud de Madagascar Pour am\u00e9liorer l’acc\u00e8s \u00e0 l’\u00e9nergie dans les r\u00e9gions Androy et Anosy, la Fondem a lanc\u00e9 le programme BOR\u00c9ALE, visant l’\u00e9lectrification de 7 villages gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 des centrales solaires photovolta\u00efques. Chaque localit\u00e9, pr\u00e9sentant un habitat concentr\u00e9 et un fort potentiel solaire, b\u00e9n\u00e9ficiera d’une solution technique avec un r\u00e9seau associ\u00e9. Pour assurer la p\u00e9rennit\u00e9, un sch\u00e9ma financier impose aux abonn\u00e9s une redevance mensuelle. Des op\u00e9rateurs locaux seront s\u00e9lectionn\u00e9s et form\u00e9s pour g\u00e9rer le service. La mati\u00e8re ferment\u00e9e sert de terreau naturel pour les cultures, permettant de g\u00e9rer et valoriser les d\u00e9chets.
