In Madagascar, there are no public nursery schools, only private schools welcome children from 3 to 6 years old, accessible only to wealthy families. To help disadvantaged children acquire skills before primary school, the NGO Zazakely created the Espace Eveil au Nid de Cigognes, in partnership with the Baldung Grien college in Hoerdt Bas-Rhin, which supported the construction and operation of the building.
